Sensex sinks 486 points; Nifty ends below 15,750

Equity indices plunged on Thursday with the benchmark BSE sensex falling over 450 points, dragged by metal, banking and financial stocks. The 30-share BSE index fell 486 points or 0.92 per cent to close at 52,569; while the broader NSE Nifty settled 152 points or 0.96 per cent lower at 15,728.
