Sensex, Nifty scale record closing highs
Equity indices scaled fresh highs on Thursday with the benchmark BSE sensex rising over 300 points led by gains in realty, IT and banking stocks amid positive global cues. After scaling an intra-day high of 54,874, the 30-share BSE index jumped 318 points or 0.58 per cent to close at a new record peak of 54,844. While, the broader NSE Nifty settled 82 points or 0.5 per cent higher at a fresh high of 16,364.
