Sensex, Nifty hit fresh closing highs
Equity indices surged to record highs on Wednesday with the benchmark BSE sensex rising nearly 200 points, led by gains in metal and realty stocks. The 30-share BSE index jumped 194 points or 0.37 per cent to close at fresh peak of 53,055; while the broader NSE Nifty settled 61 points or 0.39 per cent higher at record of 15,880.
