Parliament passes bill to give states power to make OBC lists

The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday approved the Constitution (127th Amendment) Bill, 2021 to restore the power of states to make their own Other Backward Castes (OBC) lists.The bill was cleared by the Lok Sabha yesterday with unanimous support from the opposition members. It will now be sent to President Ram Nath Kovind for his assent.
