Madrassa students in UP may be eligible for army jobs soon
If a madrassa student wants to enrol in the army, their certificate of education from the UP Board of Madrassa Education is not considered valid enough by the armed forces. A number of other higher education and employment bodies also do not allow madrassa students to join their ranks based on their certification. To tackle this problem, the UP government has applied for membership of the Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) of which 67 state boards are already members.
