The India Meteorological Department predicted that 'heavy rains at isolated places' in Mumbai and Palghar on Saturday. However, 'heavy to very heavy rains' at isolated places have been predicted for Thane city.In the last two days, heavy rains battered different parts of Maharashtra leading to flood-like situations and landslides that claimed at least 129 lives.Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for the kin of those who lost their lives in the landslides caused by torrential rainfall in various parts of the state.According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the state will also incur the costs of treatment for those injured.Meanwhile, there will be no supply of Gokul pouch milk to Mumbai on Saturday due to flooding in Kolhapur, Sangli and other districts of Maharashtra. The Kolhapur Zilla Sahakari Dudh Utpadak Sangh (KZSDUS), which owns the milk brand Gokul, said on Friday.The NRDF and Indian Army were deployed for rescue operations in different parts of Maharashtra on Friday.Stay tuned for all the updates here...
