Gujarat HC stays certain sections of anti-love jihad law

In a setback to the Vijay Rupani government, the Gujarat high court on Thursday stayed certain sections of the new anti-love jihad law related to interfaith marriages. The court said that an interim order has been passed to protect the people from unnecessary harassment. The law, which was notified on June 15, was passed in the recently concluded budget session and was later approved by governor Acharya Devvrat.
