18 Muslim Banjaras from UP ‘reconvert’ to Hinduism
Mohammad Rashid was 13 when his father converted to Islam. The Banjara community at Kandhla, to which he belonged, had always struggled to find land to bury its dead. Locals say conversion to Islam seemed like one possible way out and, about 12 years ago, the community did just that.
